Tony Wickert

Qualifications: MA Adult Education

Role: Director

Background: Tony has worked in and taught multi-media production for the past 30 years - mainly in the UK as a director, initially with the BBC, then later as a freelancer with Yorkshire Television, Westward and London Weekend Television.

From 1979 he held the position, Head of Film & TV (Communication Design B.A.) at North East London Polytechnic before returning to Australia in 1982 as a teacher and thence joint head of the inaugural Directing Workshop at the Australian Film Television and Radio School; later returning as Supervisor of the Industry Program.


In 1985 Tony established Summer Hill Films (now Summer Hill Media).

Joe Wickert

Qualifications: BA Comm (Public Communications)

Role: Multimedia producer

Background: Joe has been core to SHM operations for some years now. He has been key in the convergence of communication design, visual media and multimedia at Summer Hill Media.

Joe has over 10 years experience with computer aided design, game and multimedia programming in a wide variety of software and hardware environments.

Qualifications: BA Communications (Media Production)

Role: Editor

Background: Ben applies his skill and expertise in video editing and production tasks. He has a wealth of experience in independent video production and commercial television production.

Role: Graphic design, print production, office admin & accounts

Background: Freelance graphic & web design, accounts and admin for Foote, Cone & Belding (FCB) advertising agency.

Gillian Emmett

Qualifications: B.Psych (Hons)

Role: Production Manager

Background: Gillian started with Summer Hill on a freelance project in early 2007 and now works in the office 3 days per week managing production, liaising with clients, preparing budgets and proposals, arranging shoots, directing and editing smaller projects as required, and managing general office administration.

Gillian is also a trained Actress and emerging Producer. She has completed lead and supporting roles in independent feature films, commercials, corporate videos, and many short films. She is currently co-writing and co-producing her first feature film.

Prior to pursuing a career in the film industry Gillian worked in mental health services.

We also have a network of skilled freelancers on call to add that extra value to your production when required. We have a commitent to education and skills development and we regularly have interns from tertiary institutions in Australia and worldwide
