Working with the Mining Mob
A resource for Indigenous trainees in the Mining Industry

The Brief
TAFE NSW developed a comprehensive training package to help new entrants into the mining industry. The resource was intended to help people work out if mining was the job for them, and then get up to speed on the basic literacy and numeracy skills they'd need. TAFE came to us to develop video/interactive elements to complement the resource and provide the final design.
The Task
We filmed several dramatic scenes with a terrific indigenous cast. Some of the scenes were "triggers", designed to stimulate discussion about sensitive issues like drug and alcohol use - others were scenarios designed to slot in with activities in the workbook.
The Result
The final kit looks great and has been tested around Australia with the target audience with great success.
